CHARITY WEEK

Many members of the BL ISoc describe Charity Week as the best week of the year. It is an international initiative where students across institutions come together to raise money in exciting ways for orphans and needy children throughout the world. In 2019, Charity Week raised a whopping £1,356,505.23! This money went to various projects in countries including Syria, Pakistan, and Yemen.
It takes place in the last week of October every year and is jam packed with events! From banner painting to cake stalls, netball tournaments and dodgeball competitions, escape rooms and quiz nights, auction dinners and mountain climbing – the friendships and memories made in this week are not ones to forget!
However the real vision of Charity Week is not about raising the greatest amount of money; it’s unity. When we come together, it is easier to solve problems and the impact that we can have is immeasurable. We pray that this unity formed will provide a lasting solution to the suffering of the children of the world, provide the spark for more like-minded campaigns and will be our legacy for generations to come.
